About Me

Hey there I’m Kjersti Cooper (chair-stee) and I’m a Musician, Writer, Photographer, and Artist based in Chicago, Illinois. As an emerging Singer-Songwriter, my music is influenced greatly by my own life stories as well as the stories I find in the people I encounters throughout my life. I pull inspiration from a variety of artists, including the Rock N’ Roll acts from the 1960s-1990s that were played on the Hi-Fi throughout my childhood, as well as the music that has defined my young adulthood such as Florence Welch, Taylor Swift, Sara Bareilles, and Adele. I am also influenced by the world of Musical Theatre, for which I have had an endearing love since childhood. I spent over a decade performing music from the classical music and opera repertoire, including as Greta Fiorentino in Street Scene for which I “colorfully played” (Gregory Sullivan Isaacs, Theater Jones) and also had the opportunity to premiere the role of Agnes in the world premiere of Frideswide and the Devil with Chicago College of Performing Arts OperaFest XII.
As a Photographer, I strive to capture the essence of each Musician, Artist, and Person I photograph- getting to know you personally so that your true self and artistry can shine through the camera lens. I have photographed for several Musicians and Actors including Ben Weiss, Emily Thornton, Sydney Richards, and Paisley Pants.
Outside of my Musical, Artistic, and Creative pursuits, I enjoy traveling, visiting coffee shops, perusing antique malls, yoga, running, hiking, loving my cat, Rosie, and catching up on the latest British TV show.
